5 Common Durable Medical Equipment for Urgent Care
Urgent care facilities need lots of different equipment to function and serve people well. These are five of the most common and durable pieces of equipment.

Urgent care facilities are an excellent health provider option for many. You need durable medical equipment to best serve those who require an urgent care visit. Keep reading to learn about five common pieces of equipment your urgent care practice should have.

Blood Pressure Monitors

Blood pressure monitors allow you to check the blood pressure of all your patients, especially if they’re showing high blood pressure symptoms. High blood pressure can cause stroke and complications from heart disease, monitoring your patient’s blood pressure is important. Find a blood pressure monitor that will last and can serve your practice for years to come so you can focus on patients, not replacing equipment.

ECG Monitors

An electrocardiogram monitor, or an ECG/EKG, records the electrical signals coming from the heart. Recording these signals with a monitor allows you to better understand a patient’s heart problems. While someone with active chest pain should go to the emergency room, people with occasional chest pain or other infrequent heart symptoms may come to your urgent care for a diagnosis. A good ECG monitor can help you provide that care.

Assistive Equipment

If someone falls and hurts their arms, legs, or related extremities but knows they haven’t broken anything, they may come to your urgent care for help. You can diagnose any pain that they have so that they know whether they’ve sprained or torn anything. Even if you send them to another doctor for long-term care, they may need mobility aid such as crutches. Providing durable assistive equipment is necessary for running an urgent care center.

Thermometers

Just as you should check all your patients’ blood pressure, you should always check their temperatures. Checking their temperatures is especially important during cold and flu season and if your area is seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases. High temperatures are some of the first symptoms of these health problems. Find a durable thermometer that’s easy to clean to best serve your patients.

Protective Equipment

Patients aren’t the only ones using equipment within your urgent care facility. Your staff needs to protect themselves when serving patients, so they’ll need personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face masks and gloves. While they’ll need new protective equipment for each patient they serve, they’ll need their equipment to last through various interactions. Invest in durable PPE so your urgent care staff can provide the best care possible.

Urgent cares need many common, durable medical equipment to function well. These five pieces of equipment are some of the most important to help you best serve patients and protect your staff. Rice Village Medical Supply can provide your facility’s urgent care supplies to function and thrive.
